The Ebonyi State Governor and Chairman South-East Governors’ Forum, David Umahi, has reassured the presidential flagbearer of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the votes of the state only belong to APC.
The governor who stated this at the inauguration ceremony of five new Commissioners and other aides in Abakaliki, the state capital on Monday, told eligible voters in the state not to vote for the Labour Party in the forthcoming general election.
The directive is coming one week after the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election.
Those sworn in as commissioners are Mathias Adum, Celestine Nwali, Beatrice Eze, Christopher Uchaji, Romanus Nwasum; Mrs Mary Rita Okoro, was sworn in as Head of Service.
Umahi, who urged Ebonyi people to only vote for the APC, said, “We will not vote for Labour Party. We will only vote for APC. Our votes are for APC and not for Labour Party. Our agenda is Ebonyi agenda.
“We will vote for our presidential candidate in the person of Tinubu. We must strive to liberate Ebonyi State; Ebionyi is our agenda now.”
The governor contested the APC presidential ticket but lost to a former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu.
